The Victorian Alliance of San Francisco welcomes everyone interested in and committed to the restoration and preservation of architecture, landscapes, and artifacts originating in the 19th and early-20th centuries.
Our name speaks to our beginning; it was an era when neglect and the wholesale destruction of Victorian buildings was commonplace. Once the staple for housing, by the early 1970’s, the rate of loss, accelerated by misguided “Urban Renewal” programs and “re-muddling,” galvanized a small group with the united goal of stopping the madness. Hands on restoration, education, and lobbying, as well as a lively social network and regular monthly meetings, bring us together.
Joining our ranks is easy and your low, annual membership dues help us continue our important work.
